Step into the story of Cape Verdean football. From one of Praia's historic football grounds to the stadium where Cabo Verde made history by qualifying for a FIFA World Cup for the very first time.

On this special stadium tour, we take you on a journey through the past, present, and future of football in Cabo Verde.

We start at the historic Estádio da Várzea, one of Praia's most important football grounds for decades. Several well-known clubs from the capital call this stadium home, and generations of players have stepped onto its pitch. You'll discover the role Várzea has played in the development of football in Praia and hear stories about the clubs, players, and memorable matches connected to the stadium.

From there, we travel on to the former Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde, officially renamed Estádio Tubarões Azuis in 2026.

This is the place where Cabo Verde made football history on 13 October 2025. With a 3-0 win over Eswatini, the Tubarões Azuis qualified for a FIFA World Cup for the first time ever, right here.

Behind the scenes

During your visit, you'll get full behind-the-scenes access to places you wouldn't normally see on a regular match day. Walk through the stadium, visit the changing rooms, and step onto the very pitch where the Tubarões Azuis made history.

Along the way, you'll hear the stories behind key matches and special moments in Cape Verdean football. But we also look ahead. What does this historic World Cup qualification mean for the future of football in Cabo Verde? And what opportunities does it open up for a new generation of young players?

Your visit supports the next generation

For us, this tour is about more than just showing football history.

A portion of the proceeds from every tour goes toward supporting young footballers and youth teams in Cabo Verde. With this, we want to contribute to their development and to the things they need to keep playing and growing.

So by joining this tour, you don't just visit the places where Cape Verdean football history was written — with your participation, you also help support the generation that will write its next chapter.

Because among the young players out on Cabo Verde's fields today, tomorrow's next Tubarão Azul could well be standing.

More than a stadium tour

During the day, you'll also enjoy a local Cape Verdean lunch. This way, you don't just get to know the football history — you also get a taste of the culture, stories, and people behind the game.

From Várzea to the Tubarões Azuis: experience where it began, stand where history was made, and contribute to where the future starts.
