Discover the impressive mountain landscape of Santiago on an adventurous hike from Serra Malagueta, through Ribeira de Gongon, to the picturesque village of Principal. This challenging hike takes you through one of the most beautiful and authentic natural areas of Cape Verde.

After pick-up in Praia, we drive to Serra Malagueta, where your local guide welcomes you and gives a short briefing on the route. From here the hike begins along mountain trails, past impressive mountain walls, green valleys and traditional farmland.

On the way to Ribeira de Gongon you discover the rural life of Santiago. You walk through a spectacular landscape of steep slopes, deep valleys and small communities where daily life is still closely connected to nature. Along the way, your guide tells you about the local culture, traditions and this special environment.

During the hike we take plenty of time to enjoy the panoramic views, take photos and rest for a while. Lunch is included, so you can recharge along the way.

The route ends in Principal, a beautifully located village in the middle of the green mountains. Here you experience the peace and authentic atmosphere of the interior before we return to Praia.
