Below you'll find the practical matters to arrange before you leave: visa, mandatory online registration, the airport tax and travel documents for children. We keep this page up to date, but the Cape Verdean government's rules can change \u2014 always check the official sources at the bottom of this page shortly before you travel.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">Do you need a visa?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">Are you travelling on a Dutch passport (or one from another EU country, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Norway)? Then you don't need a visa for stays of up to 30 days in Cape Verde. If you want to stay longer, you do need a visa or other residence permission \u2014 see the section \u201cHow long can you stay?\u201d below.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">Arrange before you leave: EASE registration<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">Most foreign travellers must register before their trip via the official <strong>EASE-systeem<\/strong> (Electronic Authorization System for Entry) of the Cape Verdean government. There are exceptions, including for Cape Verdean citizens and foreign residents of Cape Verde.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.8; padding-left: 20px;\">\n<li><strong>Where:<\/strong> only via the official platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ease.gov.cv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ease.gov.cv<\/a> \u2014 watch out for fake sites charging higher amounts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wanneer:<\/strong> arrange the pre-registration before you leave. Official Cape Verdean information says to do this no later than 5 days before the start of your trip<\/li>\n<li><strong>Geldigheid:<\/strong> if your planned trip doesn't go ahead, according to the official FAQ a completed pre-registration with TSA payment can still be used for a new trip for up to a year after the application<\/li>\n<li><strong>What you need:<\/strong> passport details, flight details and the address of your first night's accommodation in Cape Verde<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">Airport Security Tax (TSA)<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">For international flights the TSA is currently <strong>3,400 CVE, about \u20ac30.83<\/strong> (the Cape Verdean escudo is pegged to the euro). You pay this in the same step as your EASE registration, by credit or debit card. There are exemptions from this charge, including for children under 2, Cape Verdean passport holders and certain other exempt travellers.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">Paspoort<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">Travelling on a Dutch passport? Make sure it is still valid for at least 3 months on arrival in Cape Verde. Other nationalities may face different requirements; check the official Cape Verdean sources for these.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">Travelling with children<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">Every child needs their own valid travel document. If you are travelling with a minor without the other parent who has parental authority, or if the child is travelling alone or with another companion, consent from the parent(s) with authority may be required. Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijksoverheid.nl\/onderwerpen\/reizen-met-kinderen\/documenten\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official form from the Dutch government<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 22px; margin: 32px 0 10px; color: #1b1b1b;\">How long can you stay?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #444; line-height: 1.6;\">With a Dutch passport you can stay in Cape Verde visa-free for up to 30 days. For a longer stay you need a visa or other residence permission.
